Our Money Beliefs plays a big role when it comes to our finances. What we are taught about money from a very young age is how we handle our finances as an adult majority of the time.
Here are 3 money beliefs which may be stopping you from reaching your financial goals and hence reaching Financial Independence.
Someone Else Will Take Care of My Money Problems
This is one belief which is holding back so many people from achieving financial Independence. People with this belief usually think or hope they will be able to hand over their money problems to someone else and that “someone” will take care of it.
It could be either parents, grandparents, spouse, or a knight in shining armour will come to their rescue. This couldn’t be more untrue hence we need to take control of our own money problems.
I’m Not Good With Money
So many people say that they are not good with money. None of us are good at anything unless we learn about it. As a child we first learn to crawl, walk and then run and same rule applies to money.
The great thing is that there are so many books, YouTube videos and blogs available these days to help us with our money questions. Information is just a click away and all we need to do is seek it.
I’m Not Smart/Talented/Lucky Enough
This is just our limiting beliefs that stop us from reaching Financial Independence. We like to live in our comfort zone and instead of finding ways to increase our skills we find it easier to say we are just not good enough or smart enough. Again we are not born smart or talented. Try and try until you succeed.
Our fear of failure usually is the cause of such beliefs. I failed in 5 businesses before I started my Digital Business. Benjamin Franklin failed about 6000 times before he invested the light bulb. When asked how he felt about failing so many times he basically replied saying he didn’t fail that many times. It just took so many steps to create the light bulb.
Any such belief that stops you from reaching your goals should be overcome so you can reach for the stars and achieve your goals of Financial Independence.
Money is neither good nor bad, it just a means of obtaining the things you like and gives you the freedom to do the things you love.
